Untitled Poem

Authored: July 23, 2025

I wanted to believe in these words that you spoke of
On paper and to my ears they sounded so fine
But we were thrust into absolution and absolved of innocence
It was a long time between solitude's testaments
The silence between the gusts of wind
Spoke so much, yet so little.

We weave our lives around hopes and dreams
Taking tomorrow for granted
When today could be the last day we see the Sun
I wanted to remember the words that you spoke of
As my body broke, my mind was in a threshold.

What was another dream? What was another hope?
Your words bade forth under a crimson sunset
The silence was all that was left
And those words spoken from lips so pure
The last innocence this world witnessed.

When my body broke, it freed my soul.
