Untitled Poem

Authored: July 18, 2025

Broken people, trying to live
Broken people, attempting to navigate a sea of shards
Broken people, making do with what they have
Awaking, getting ready, going to work, coming home, ad homonym
Eat, breath, sleep, wake up, look in the mirror soulless.

We watch profit sore
As everything around, us costs more and rises
We're told just work harder, earn more
That we will be part of the select few if we try harder
Corporatism and Capitalism takes hold of your neck
Crushing the life out of you.

You asked me to believe in God
And I did once, but no more
The silence of this being has alienated me
How does God explain the struggle to survive, for what point?
What is the meaning to this life?

If all we are a paycheck or two away from struggle and loss?
This is the type of society we evolved into
Broken society, broken people, trying to live
But never changing.
