We've gone through a lot, you and I
Had our fair share of ups and downs
Had good times and bad times 
We've tried to build a life together
Restless yearnings of souls that attempt togetherness 

I know I tire now
Knowing when the battle's lost
Seeing the love fade from your eyes 
And our fights have turned ugly
It's time to go, to take my leave. 

I know you are tired too
We once loved each other
We once fought for our relationship
But it's over now, you know it, I know it. 

I know you're tired, so sleep well
May your dreams be free of guilt or pain
May you slumber deeply
And may I fade from your thoughts. 

This is what happens from birth to death
Relationships commence and they end 
But when we feel lonely when together
The sound of loneliness echoes into the night. 

This is our denouement
Our parting of paths 
Memories shall fade away
And we will meet never again
I know you're tired, so sleep well.
