Everything comes to an eventual end
There is a start and a finish
Everything has an ending
"Even Stars die, Malenfant."
We wasted time with petty wars
We wasted life with self-inflicted pain
Did it all matter in the end?
The wars over land, over resources
The conflicts over nations, creeds and faiths?
We of the ground, will return to dust
This world will turn on us in the end
As we have turned on ourselves
Cruciform over apotheosis.
Everything is coming to an end
Love, marriage, hope, happiness
Everything is coming to an eventual end
Chances, choice, prayer, faith
In the Mini second of Silence
As man crosses over
As we slide into the eternal slumber
Toward an Eventual End
On some planet in some far parsec
Sentient life looks up at the Stars
And wonders as we once did.
"Even Suns die, Malenfant."
Everything has an ending
There are no more Starts.
There are no more beginnings
The death of Humanity
The deaths of countless civilizations
The death of whole solar systems
The death of death itself
The folding of space and time
An eventual End.
Everything.
In the vast silence of what followed. Not a whimper. Not a sound. Nothingness.
Nothing but the Void.
