As dusk takes its place,
Our fears and anxieties
Appear to distort us.
Our true desires and wishes
Come about religiously.
Leaving us in a prayer.
Hoping for all we ask for.
The night has been our mother,
Our sister, and our lover.
Left to keep our secrets.
She restlessly feels the despair
And the longing that lives
Within each and every one of us.
And so, we mend with the shadows.
Finally exhibiting our true selves.
There is no use in hiding.
You know the truth,
And so does the night.
