Cloudburst

Authored: December 13, 2023

Scattered colours like aural canyons
Quiet spirits belie the vespers of crushed dreams
Something rumbles, alone and empty
Echoes of yesterday, shimmering horizons.

"Will we dream again?"

A sudden burst of colour
A sharp intake of air
The clouds' part.
Bursting at the seams.

"We will dream again and again beloved."

This silence now an invocation
Gone forever, the bides of yesterday
This place has become a mourning hall
They know not, anymore.

"Is this real?"

The clouds part
The Stars shine down
But this now is a place of quiet midnight
Broken hallways, broken hearts, broken worlds
A whisper from afar
