Halcyon (II)

Authored: January 27, 2023

I wanted to make you something beautiful
In the midst of so much turmoil
We've been waltzing down empty corridors
As the sun sets on a bygone era
I was captivated by your eyes
In these moments of repose, I felt my heart beat
At armslength, I felt the heat of a hundred Suns
Under this monotone
Halcyon called.

We're tangled flesh and bone.
And your heart, your heart
Renders me senseless
Suddenly monotones become coloured emeralds.

And my love, my love
Will become a statue on some brazen Moon
In space vacuum awaiting your touch.

I wanted to make you something beautiful
Under Halcyon skies.
