We made haste with the wind
Until there was no wind left
We broke free of our tethers
And fell into the void like shards of light in darkness
Flickers in the small speck of time and space.
We left the cradle behind us, terra firma
We fell into a deep sleep
As the vessel past the boundary of the Solar System
Venturing into the Oort Cloud
We dreamt as the life support drugged our bodies
We created a world of love
Under blue skies and warm sands
The sounds of a lapping waters along our feet
We laughed and held onto each other
A warm tropical space for us.
Hurtling into the void, we left the Milky Way
Bound for the Andromeda Galaxy
Time became an ending as the last of our human bodies
Decayed as the vessel took our minds
Our essence and kept us in this artificial world
And still the vessel moved until even the power source faded
The last of the power went into the artificial world.
The last two humans feeling real
They became the Adam and the Eve of the new world
Human beings believing they were real
In the depths of the void, space and time
The last ship of humanity moved into the Andromeda system.
Everything ends.
And on this world of billions of humans, one being
Looked up into the sky; and for the very first time
Witnessed the last of the powering down routines
The world was ending, in a nano-second everything would end.
The human ship came to its destination
A new planet, but there were no more humans left
And from the clouds of this planet alien ships moved to intercept.
You and I would open our eyes once again
We felt our fingers graze upon each other's flesh
We slowly sat up on that tropical beach
And we smelled the salt in the air
And heard the laughs of nearby children.
But we did not see the dome around us
And the watchers observe us....
