Lamentation (Prose)

Authored: September 21, 2021

I’m sorry. I write this as an elegy to some distant alien intelligence, a civilization that may come to this world way after the last Human has taken his/her breath. I hope the life out there, was not like what was on this Earth. Human showed promise but also running disasters that belied the exultant glitch that would end our race.

The Earth had given us immeasurable times to unite, to cast away differences and become one in Unity, but we couldn’t get over our own hate, our own blind ideological bastardry. Even during a global pandemic humanity couldn’t come together and used the virus as a weapon and lost compassion and empathy. What is more deadly than an infectious virus? Human ideology, toxicity emits from believers who cannot or will not take other points of contentions and research.

Do not become us. Do not share our fate. Whoever may read this in some form in some other time and place, do better, be better.

I write this knowing there is no hope for our species, we are descending into our death throes, and we just don’t know it yet. It fills me with sorrow that I have no hope for my species. We will never unite. We will destroy ourselves and the last generations will suffer immeasurably.

What is to come yet, will have us on our knees. This Planet, this Earth, will make us suffer because we willed it upon ourselves. We will go to war against each other, great famine and food migrations will spurn human calamity, and the next Pandemic will kill billions in months.

I wish, somewhere, out there, that you learn from our mistakes or maybe you won’t ever make quite the same mistakes we have. In sorrow I share this.
