The Death of Humanity (III)

Authored: November 10, 2020

In a forgotten city, at the end of time
Somebody unknown left a final letter on withered paper
A final letter that may never be read again
Everything must come to an end
Everything....

On this Earth, the land takes back its own
With every blossoming, every rebirth, every beginning
The memory of Humanity fades into the ether
Even the skeletons and skulls shall be reclaimed by Earth
And the cities of Mankind shall be taken back and fall
Aeon's later, beyond human time, comprehensions
An ending must have a beginning.

What would have gone through the mind of the last human?
The endling to a species
What an upwelling of emotions and raw urges
Did it matter in the end?
The wars? The conflict? The bioweapons? The explosions?
What was it all for, in the end?
Nothingness is like darkness and darkness upwells
The abyss of all of our common souls is silent now.

That last letter, had one line and as exposure claims it
It reads:
"Forgive us Universe, forgive our failures...."

What comes next?
Somewhere....
Radio signals from post-Humanity
Reaches a vast intelligence so unlike the corporeal
And it is intrigued,
The stars flow like liquid
Something massive launches from a nebula
Organic and yet dark matter
Ripples flow like pebbles in space
And on these seemingly shimmers, the Stars dance.
