“Into The West Wind” (We Flew and Gazed into a Bright Sun)

Authored: June 2, 2019

I stand on this cliff, overlooking a vast blue Ocean
It is dawn, and the first rays of a new day flicker forth from the Horizon
Far below me I hear the crashing waves against rock
Taste the salt in the air and feel the wind around me
Oh, that west wind.
And I know I am Home again.
I have reached my end
I stand on this cliff, and know I have to make a decision
Do I jump or do I not?

We flew and gazed into a bright Sun.
Underneath us upon wings of birds
Flew within invisible wind currents
We were free and safe again
Yearning to find a new home in this West Wind.

Home, a feeling, a longing, a wanting.
