What Could I Say?

Authored: February 20, 2018

As I watched you walk away
My eyes followed you
Knowing I probably would never see you again in the flesh
Standing under a streetlight, darkness around me
A single tear down my face.

About memories
About words
About actions
What could I say?
As I stand here alone
And you are far away.

The air around me, your smell lingers.

Years later; I remember this streetlight
It’s gone now
I closed my eyes
And I just watch you
Slip away.

What could I say?
There were no words
Like colours on a canvas
No shape comes in memories
But tears they will make the colours blossom
What could I say?
