It is the human experience to reach out
To express yourself, to your heart's desire
Your memories are like tides, they flow
They are great monuments in your mind.
In my mind I watched the fall of empires
I played back the dawns and dusk's so special to me
Those moments of brief perturbations of bliss
I came to realise pain, hurt, love, remorse, anger and comfort
I came to make peace with desires for revenge and negativity
I came to make amends for my wrong words and actions
I came to lay it all on the line, and say I was sorry.
It is the human experience to reach within
To reflect and ruminate on one's life and purpose
To one day hope that love will blossom again
And my mind can be a field of coloured flowers
Blooming, enthralled in the smell of passionate desire
Embracing the skies and the sun
Oh yes....
In my mind I watched the fall of painful regimes
I returned to those places that were special to me
Those minutes of resolve
I came to realise my past,
I came to hold a vigil, a remembrance
Of all that had been and could be again
A flash, a moment of radiating brilliance
A twin sun, in my vision, blossoming, expanding
Glorified radiance, a brilliant spectre
The flowers sing in the field
An epiphany in this catharsis, letting go
In my mind I watched these memories
I came to release repressed thoughts
Our memories are like tides, they flow
They are great monuments to those fallen empires
