We bear witness to an ending
As we both are standing still
Looked into your eyes and all I saw was darkness
I had to focus on the lit skyline behind you.

We were once lovers, you and I,
In the eyes of God
I learnt to love you
even if all you showed me was pain
I did
Cause I felt love was fleeting
And I didn't want to lose my chance.

I asked you if you loved me
And you couldn't answer me
Looking into your eyes and all I saw was blankness
I had to focus on the lit skyline behind you.

My feet are sinking, my hands are reaching out
This land is sinking, this grip is not staying afloat
I'm sinking, as we lose contact forever....
Maybe, for the best....
We bear witness to an ending.
