Wash away those Tears

The Undated Poems Collection

When you hurt me baby,
You took a piece of my heart and;
trampled all over it and callously
returned it to me with a smile.

I cried knowing that you would never be mine again,
Droplets of warm salty tears that became streams,
running down my body forming a river of utter despair,
I allowed tears to run down freely in testament,
to how I felt for you.

But finally in due process,
when my mind clears of those sad memories
when I realise that what we had was fleeting,
I look in the mirror.

When you hurt me baby,
You made me realise that in love,
comes a price when things don't work,
I learn't a valuable lesson
I thank you my baby.

I turn on the tap and fill the basin with water
cusping my hand with cold water
I wash away those tears.
