Freedom’s Foundry

Authored: August 23, 2017

I dreamt of being above a field
So beautiful full of blooming flowers
Under a sun-drenched glow
There were almost no words to describe it.

The wind sings a song enchanting the flower petals
To open up to the warm sunrays
A blossoming
Then came the bees buzzing along to pollinate
A cycle of resplendent gloriousness.

A peacefulness within a world that saw it all
The sun burns as the Earth orbits
Around our Solar Systems stars are born and die.

I dreamt of freedom, of liberty and of unity
Our kin one-day mayhap will reach this promise
When the last war is fought
When the foundry comes to a still
When the last call for blood is heard.

Think of this field
It exists if only for now perchance in dreams
The flowers bloom in colourful radiance
Under a cloudless sun filled sky.

Let us be freedom's foundry
In unison, a simple plea, a simple wish
For the first time in my life, I open my eyes
Behind every blink of the eye is that dream.
