“We See What We Want To See, Not What Is”

Authored: May 20, 2017

Alone....
Dancing behind closed curtains away from prying eyes
My fingers trace your jawline
Feeling our bodies dance together, enmeshed
I closed my eyes and opened them
You were no longer there
Amaranthine.

But I willed this dance to continue
So, I continued to dance
Closing my eyes I moved
And imagined you with me
Timelessness.

We see what we want to see...feel what we want to feel
Not what is
What was.

There was a moment
A fleeting moment
I was not alone.

Opening my eyes.... I am on a deserted bridge
It is late afternoon
The sun is just behind a cliff
Blurred construct
I dance to an unknown beat, drums and guitar
A song that bears down on my soul
Amaranthine.

Blur with me.... I extend my hand
Timelessness
Reach out....
We see what we want to see... I see you
Not what is.
