The Decline of Empire; Ashes in the Snow, Hymn to the Immortal Wind

Authored: June 5, 2017

The steady decline of a Psychopathic species.
Too few conscious, far too few to stem the tide of decline
They could only watch day by day the decline take effect
With emboldened screams at each other
Acts of terror
Brutalisation.

The final decades of a dying species were at play
This Earth would carry on without us and ultimately heal
We chose wrongly all those centuries back in our history.

Silent flight of the Elegy
Sleeping dawn of Lachrymosa
A Hymn to the Immortal Wind
Human Life so psychologically tainted
And yet in those days of yonder
Under a polluted sky the machinery of war was mass produced.

Battle fields took in blood
The innocence lost
The torn Flag fluttered under a mournful sun
The Immortal Wind wept.

Are you there?
Are you there?

And from Space
On that final fateful day
From Orbit
The powerful deathly explosions over cities
Almost looked beautiful from afar
The Decline of Empire of Man was complete.

Ashes in the Snow
A hymn to the Immortal Wind
As our species declines
Those who seek salvation from their Gods
Would find no answers or no salvation.

The few conscious ones would see the end
And weep and cry for what was lost and what could have been
Mecca, Jerusalem and Rome would stand as time's reminder
The majority rather than awakening chose death.

We are in the theatre and our world keeps turning
Slowly the curtain slides down
And everything fades into black
All that will be heard was the weeping of that Immortal Wind.
