I watched you turn into a butterfly on that fateful day
Incandescent light shone around you
You moved towards me, and I felt your wings
The light grew deeper and denser.

I heard the song with each flap of your wings
A beautiful symphony
You survived.

And your wings spread around the Earth
Light against darkness
The drumbeat of human progress changed
That fateful moment I sunk to my knees
Watching you fly away.

I saw the blood seep from the ground
Molecules transform
An Enemy brought us together
That enemy was hate.

The light grew around me encompassing me
Burning flesh from bone
But I still saw your beauty and grace
Transforming the world
You were Love.

A beautiful symphony
Incandescent
My body.

You became the beat of humanity
Transforming
Hate into Love.

With my last moments my mind remembered
The old city on the mountain
There was a cave
Within that cave
Were ancient Crystals
That opened the heart and body
Beyond death.
