I

Learning's a difficult and painful process
I feel everything, I feel the emotions my own, yours
Everything's different now
We are cells, individual cells fused to more cells
A firing of the synapses, neurons connecting
Every cell knows and talks to each other cell
We've codified our existence to bring it down to human size
To make it comprehensible to us at a cerebral level.

II

We cannot forget its unfathomable scale
Life has been given to us a billion years ago
What have we done with it?
The wars, the destruction, the extinctions,
A primitive way; all obstacles
Yet within, there are glimpses
Of compassion, of love, of passion
Unity, forgiveness, joy, happiness.

This painful process is an obstacle
We learn in such painful ways
Does it make any sense?
Like this pain you're experiencing
It's blocking you from understanding
All you know now is pain
That's all you know, pain.

IV

We created God to try to make sense the unknown
God became the construct of fear and desire
Everything's different now.
Time is the only true unit of measure
It gives proof to the existence of matter
Without time, we don't exist.

V

Life was given to us a billion years ago
From the waters of this planet
To the sky and beyond
From each and every tree
All molecules and cells combined
It is up to Us to push the rules and laws
And go from religion and evolution.
To revolution.
