Those ships appeared out of nowhere and without notice
They did not communicate
Those ships placed themselves over major cities of the world
Our governments tried contact, but they did not respond
Nothing. Silence....
You and I sat on a beach overlooking an ocean of azure
We were together yet we were apart
We saw the formation of a thunderstorm
Great anvils forming and rising; coalescing.
We hold dear the very technology of progress and heartbreak
Of victory and war, of love and hate
Look into the eyes of a fellow human
A whole universe beckons forth.
Those alien ships dormant
A forcefield around each ship
Who are they? What do they want?
We wanted to know if we were alone in the universe
Humanity had its answer.
You turned to me and I looked into your eyes
Mirrors to the soul
And I saw an alien presence
The Anvil rose higher
Obscuring the sun.
You reached out for my hand
Your touch was cold yet electric
Alien.
In one unknown indescribable moment
In the pages of Human History
The Alien Ships as one released a pulse
First it was the guns, then the weapons of hate and misery
They stopped working forever
Then the power went out, grid by grid
Forever.
The Anvil spread forth and the rain enveloped us
Our lips met and I felt how alien you were
In a flash of sequences, I saw a blur of images
And I understood
The ground began to shake.
The world was awakening....
