Cities fell; the lights dimmed
I watched the shadow of you disappear
As darkness took hold
So, i reached out to you
Someone new
I sent you a message
No response needed
From afar your smile took hold of me
I felt a kinship with you.
I will tell you a story
Of pain, of blood shed
Of tears reared
I wished you the luck in your own search
I will imagine these hands
Sliding across your flesh
My lips tasting your skin
I will from afar feel you.
I walk into the desert
As the universe slowly spins
Regret is my remembrance
I know of love, a fiction of familiarity
So, you read my words
You hear the sounds
There is a deep sadness and longing.
The lights exploded in the horizon
A brief glimpse of you with your friends
Smiling, happy, content
The lights dimmed again
All those that I loved have moved on.
I will tell you a story
a story of regret
My footsteps on barren ground
My house in a desert
Alone
As the universe slowly spins
I see you all in my dreams and my mind
F5, refresh
You start again.
All I wanted was someone to reach out
But your future passes me by
All those I once knew
I am simply a figment
No answer, no response.
I am in my house in the desert
I will tell you a story
a story of regret
I am far from the world
Far from love
My heart grows cold
Alone
F5, delete
As the universe slowly spins
The house in the desert fades
I am simply a figment, an obtuse thought
No more.
