“As Yet”

Authored: February 25, 2017

My fingers wandered your flesh
In my room lit and scented by candles
Our shadows made silhouettes on the wall
I traced the contours of your body
That moment etched in my mind
We listened to each other's heartbeats
I felt your warm flesh against my face and lips.

I watched and felt as you drew and exhaled breaths
Your supple flesh against my body
I still feel you when I close my eyes
I was lost in the depths of your body
Your heartbeat was a matching drumbeat to my own.

Memories are still there,
They come at unbeckoned times
Months later I still feel you.

I remember the times of intimacy
What felt real at that moment
I remember....

Body to body, flesh on flesh
What was perfection was an act
A grand act.

My lips wandered your flesh
I lost myself within you
Tracing contours
Moments etched in my mind.

The clouds come
Obscuring the shoreline, the cliff-faces
The lightning bolts are seen before the rain descends
I remember....
