Untitled Poem

Authored: April 18, 2014

I looked for God at every monastery
I searched for God in every Church
I seeked God in every Mosque
I yearned for God in every Temple
I tried to witness God in every Oracle on our Earth
But in every avenue where I searched
I found nothing but deep silence
So, I turned on the news and saw the death and despair
And asked if God existed why did it allow all this to happen
And the answer was not forthcoming.

At Night I looked up into the clear sky cloudless
And abound were countless stars
And I saw the majesty of creation and evolution side by side
I found solitude in the knowing and in the grasping
God exists, but not in any Bible, or Koran or Torah
God exists not as a soluble being but one that is in each of our hearts
God is singular and vast for each of us different
The meaning of God exists separately and differently for each one of us.

Every face, every form is of our construct
Just like religion has been. Look beyond its illusion.

The only place I forgot to search for God was inwardly
And that is the home of God, your belief system, your morality
What sets you apart from another on this existence
Both creationism and evolution side by side
Neither are wrong nor right
We were never meant to know.
Everything.
