Barely a sound but the crackling of the Bonfire
As I stared into the flames
Overcome I was for I reached a crescendo
You cannot understand Life without knowing Death
You cannot receive happiness unless knowing Pain
You cannot feel connection without redemption
And the flames danced and mesmerised me.

If one cannot learn that the flame will burn
One will be burnt.
Fire and ice, rain and sun, cloud and clear blue sky
Dawn and Dusk, Wind and Silence, Hate and Love
If one cannot learn that happiness is within reach,
One will not fathom.

At the Dawn of Tomorrow, I wept for the Past
At the Dusk of Today, I stand resolutely on a new path
Within my life I battled to this point
And I'll hold these battles up and like a flame keep them eternal.

Opening the final doorways; I said goodbye to you
And you left my heart like a wind departing out of a doorway
And I'll hold those memories up to eternity.

At The Dawn and at The Dusk, I understand
To hate another, you hate yourself
To be bitter, you are bitter at yourself
To seek revenge, you slide into self-anarchy
To belittle someone, you belittle your soul
To hurt another, you demean yourself.

I understand Everything and Nothing
For everything is nothingness and
Nothingness is everything.

Come sail with me, on my yacht
Into the sunset, into the horizon
Let's depart, you and me.
Into our own ancient empires of whatever we seek to make.

Fathom
